Description

This eye-catchingly bold yellow floral pattern has been named “Asian Circles”. It has been designed by Kaffe Fassett himself as part of the Kaffe Fassett Collective’s August 2023 collection for Free Spirit Fabrics. It dazzles with a kaleidoscope of floral forms. From bright and cheery chrysanthemums to delightful dahlias, the flowers are bursting into life across this cotton.

Blooming across the fabric, the bright cheerful lemon yellow is complimented by vibrant pops of colours in candy pinks, corals, and turquoises which add a beautiful feeling of warmth and contrast to this sunny floral.

Each flower is outlined – often in white but some also in colour. The use of flowers with large round heads and many tiny outlined petals adds a lot of visual interest. The more you look at it, the more your eyes want to wander over it, and the more details you see. It also gives the pattern a delicate, illustrative feel.

The combination of different-sized flowers where petals frequently push out past other flowers, from a distance looks more like overlapping circles, adding a hint of geometric to this joyful floral cotton.

“Asian Circles” is approximately 110cm (43 inches) wide. This high quality cotton fabric is available by the metre (39 ⅓ inches) or half a metre (19 ½ inches). Multiple quantities are always cut as a continuous length. For those crafting something smaller with this fabric, we also offer a fat quarter measuring about 55cm x 50cm (21 ½ x 19 ½ inches).

This cotton is perfect for all sorts of sewing projects, but we think the happy yellow floral pattern would lend itself especially well to making fussy-cut flower quilt blocks or feature flowers as part of a bigger bag design, or maybe even a stunning summer dress.
