Gypsy Violet Panels

Designed by Sheena Pike for Blank Quilting, this stunning purple flower and white horse cotton panel is approximately 110cm (43 inches) x 60cm (24 inches).

On first look, you’d think that this horse was a unicorn. Its soft white face has been drawn with almost an ethereal glow and sparkles around it, as the mane cascades down the horse’s face and neck in all shades of blues and purples from light indigos to deep violet. This horse also wears a crown of leaves and vines woven into the mane with shimmering beads, a large purple rose and delicate feathers hanging down from the leaves, swaying around amongst the mane. The cluster of flowers and leaves around the horse makes it almost look like it’s peering out of a mythical forest.

With a dreamy colour palette and a beautiful blend of realism and fantasy, this pretty panel has a delightfully otherworldly feel, like you could step right into a magical adventure.

“Gypsy Violet” has been printed on a high-quality cotton fabric which is fantastic for a wide range of sewing projects, but we think it would be perfect to make a quirky quilt – maybe the horse framed with hexies, or a magic-filled messenger bag, or even a fantastical fantasy frock!
