Chasing Rainbows

If you were to try to doodle a happy summer’s day, then this cheerful cotton fabric by designed by Emily Dumas for Henry Glass & Co. would likely be pretty close to it! Full of the joys of nature in a pretty pastel purple combined with bright happy colours, this uplifting pattern is sure to brighten up anything you sew with it.

From the collection “Chasing Rainbows” this pattern is beaming with bright playful sunshine shapes. Some have been drawn with simple circles at the centre and chunky rays of light bursting off while others are more delicate with swirls and small scatterings of sun beams. Each one seems to be spreading warmth and happiness across this fun fabric. Beautiful rainbows splash across the fabric. Each one with decorations inside their normal bands of colours. Some have spots, vertical stripes, or even hearts, while others are decorated with cute scalloped edges like they’ve been trimmed with pom poms. In between are flowers blooming in pinks, blues and oranges. Some are more traditional shapes with open petals and leaves poking out next to them and others are shaped like tulips. Fluttering between the clouds are butterflies in matching colours.

Chasing Rainbows is approximately 110cm (43 inches). It is available at full width in per meter (39 ⅓ inches), half a meter (19 ½ inches) or skinny quarter lengths which is 25cm (9.8 inches). Multiple quantities or combinations of any of these cuts will be sent as a continuous length. We also have a fat quarter size, measuring approximately 55cm x 50cm (21 ½ x 19 ½ inches).

This is a premium quality cotton fabric that is such a fun and gloriously girly cotton pattern that it would be just as perfect on a twirly dress as on a nursery quilt. We think it would be particularly fun to make a rainbow-filled reading pillow, a sunny shoulder bag, or even some back garden butterfly bunting!
