Purple Uni The Unicorn

In a deep purple field, fluffy dandelions dot the landscape. Frolicking amongst them are majestic unicorns. Their white coats gleam while their manes and tails flow behind them in a gentle breeze. These Unicorns are featured in a series of books by Amy Krouse Rosenthal which have been lovingly illustrated by Brigette Barrager, who has combined her work with Random House Children’s Book with Riley Blake Fabrics to create this beautiful fabric pattern.

Uni the Unicorn is shown in a variety of poses like different chapters of adventures. These mythical creatures, with their tall spiralled horns and flowing manes, give a real sense of wonder and fantasy that are sure to inspire whole worlds of imaginative fun. 

The deep purple background adds a dusky moonlight feel to the design, like unicorns prancing across a twilight field. Their spiralling horns are long and sharp, contrasting perfectly with their gentle eyes. A unicorn leaps happily across lucky four-leaf clovers as nearby another unicorn bends low to touch its horn to the centre of a glowing poppy, spreading magic wherever it goes. One unicorn stands proudly on its hind legs, its front hooves reaching out to blow on a dandelion. Its eyes are closed as if wishing a dream into life as it blows. Their delicate white puffs suspended in mid-air floating gently across the fabric. They drift towards another unicorn whose head is held high watching them float towards them. Against the deep purple background, the dandelion seeds are almost like a scattering of tiny stars. Each one holds the promise of hope or a dream.

The fabric pattern has a delightfully dreamlike feel. The bright colours and playful unicorns would likely appeal to children or the young at heart. Riley Blake are well known for their high-quality cotton fabrics, so this unicorn cotton would be perfect for a wide range of uses from quilting to crafting. This cotton fabric is approximately 110cm (43 inches) in wide. “Uni The Unicorn” is available by the metre (39 ⅓ inches), half a metre (19 ½ inches) or skinny quarter which is 25cm length (9.8 inches). Any orders with multiple quantities or combinations of these cuts will be sent as a continuous piece. For example, if you’d like 150cm, just add a half metre and a metre to the basket before you check out and we’ll cut it as 150cm for you. We also have a fat quarter size which is approximately 55cm x 50cm (21 ½ x 19 ½ inches).
