In a galaxy far, far away, came an idea for an epic fabric pattern! “Sci Fi” by In The Beginning Fabrics has taken the idea of the popular realistic and space-themed cotton patterns and added futuristic starships into the mix.

In a vast expanse of space stretching out into infinite blackness, are planets in red, purple, blue, green and gold. Their swirling atmospheres give each one a different blend of colours and unique appearance. Galaxies spin with cosmic energy deep in the distance. Their vibrant colours twist out from the centre stretching out into the expanse. Billowing clouds of gas and space dust form nebula in purple, red and blue, as speckles of tiny stars remind us just how much of the universe we have yet to explore.

Between this cosmic scene, something more mysterious is happening. Flying between the planets in a range of shapes and sizes are futuristic spaceships. Some ships have a sleek and aerodynamic design, some designed full of power and might, while others have a more rugged and lived-in look, suggesting that the ships may come with different personalities on board, or different purposes. Maybe one is a mining ship, or explorers are on board another, or maybe there are inter-galaxy smugglers or a heroic rebel on board. There is an imposing presence with these ships as they pass through space. It would be easy to imagine them deep in a world full of danger and adventure.

This science fiction cotton has a width of approximately 110cm (43 inches). You can choose to purchase it at full width by the meter (39 ⅓ inches), half a meter (19 ½ inches), or by the skinny quarter, which is about 25cm (9.8 inches). Multiple quantities or combinations of these cuts will be sent out as a continuous length. We also have a fat quarter size available, measuring approximately 55cm x 50cm (21 ½ x 19 ½ inches).
