Cute As Can Bee

What is a bee without a blossom? This bee-utiful fabric pattern has been drawn in an adorable catoonish style by the talented Hua at Huapika Illustration. It feels like a fun scene that’s been taken right out of a fairytale garden. With stripey round bodies, large expressive eyes, smiling faces and tiny wings fluttering with glee, these may just be the cutest, and most cheerful little critters you’ve ever laid your eyes on! Some flutter playfully from flower to flower sprinkling little bits of pollen in the air as they go, while others are basking in the sun napping on top of the big open blooms. The cheerful expressions on all the bees’ faces adds a real feeling of joy to the overall pattern. The flowers are drawn in soft, blushing hues of pinks and purples with swaying light green and teal stems growing up from a gentle cream background. The soft colours of the leaves and background contrast perfectly to let the bees and blossoms stand out and grab your attention, while adding to the fun of the pattern. PUL fabric, also known as polyurethane laminate is a practical and versatile fabric. Being lightweight, breathable, waterproof and with a slight stretch, makes it perfect for a whole range of sewing projects. We think that it would be particularly fun to make bee breastfeeding pads or a flowery floor protector, or maybe even an adorable apron.

At a width of 145cm (57 inches), this fabric is available by the metre (39 inches), half a metre (19.5 inches), or even a fat quarter (approximately 48cm x 50cm which is about 18.9 x 19.5 inches). As with many PUL fabrics, this fabric may come with a wide selvedge which may not be laminated right up to the edge, or may have lamination overlapping the edge. This doesn’t affect the usable width. If you order more than 1 metre or half metre, it will be sent as a continuous piece. To keep your bees vibrant and long-lasting, it’s best to wash at 30°c.
