High Shank – Walking Foot With Removable Guide

Description

The walking foot is a screw-on presser foot which is designed for working with either thicker fabrics, harder-to-sew-with fabrics, stretch fabrics or multiple layers of thinner fabrics. When you sew with a regular presser foot on your sewing machine, the feed dogs underneath the foot move to pull the fabric along, but the foot can cause friction which can stop some fabrics from being pulled through as easily. This can cause stitch issues or distort the fabrics. The walking foot helps to correct this, as it feeds the fabric at the same speed as your feed dogs from above at the same time. This helps to pull the fabric through evenly from both above and below.

This walking foot comes with a removable, adjustable guide. This tool is useful for helping you sew at a set distance for hems, and seams, or for sewing repeating patterns where you are following previous lines of stitching at a set distance apart such as quilting.
