This sewing machine foot is a free motion foot (sometimes also called a darning foot. It has a large round guide around the outside of the foot. Free motion feet help you to sew in any direction (you may need to lower or cover your feed dogs to do this effectively). This foot lends itself well to projects such as quilting or sewing machine embroidery where you might want to follow curves at a set distance away from either a fabric pattern, applique or previous line of stitching or stay a certain distance away from feature areas. This sewing machine foot will fit Husqvarna Viking Sewing Machines in group 7. However, it will not fit models Opal models.
