This snap-on foot is designed for use with Pfaff sewing machines.
A cording sewing machine foot is mainly used as a decorative stitch foot. It can be used to thread narrow ribbons, yarns, or threads through the guide hole. They can then be stitched down in place. The stitching can either be part of the decorative design, or an invisible thread can be used. This cording foot has 9 holes. These can either be used to pass multiple threads at the same time or to give more choice on the position of where you wish to pass your cord to stitch. You may find it easier to use a needle threading tool to help pass the decorative ribbons etc through the guide.
This foot can also be useful for gathering fabric. To use a cording foot to gather fabric, simply sew a wide zigzag stitch with a long stitch length over a strong thread (or tooth floss!) then gently pull on the strong thread ends to help gather the fabric together. Once you have the correct length, you can then stitch over the top to permanently secure the fabric into position.
