This blind hem foot has been designed for use with Pfaff Sewing Machines in categories D, E, G, J, KL.

If your Pfaff sewing machine has the IDT system, you can engage this function to use with this foot.

A blind hem is a special kind of hem where only the tiniest bit of your stitching is visible from the front, with most of the stitches hiding at the back holding everything securely in place. It is a real game changer for making professional-looking hems on curtains, tablecloths, formal trousers, pencil skirts and lots more.

Attaching the blind hem foot to your Pfaff sewing machine is easy. Just remove the current presser foot and snap this blind hem foot into place. If your Pfaff machine is equipped with the IDT (Integrated Dual Feed) system, you’ll be pleased to know that this foot is fully compatible. The IDT system helps to feed the fabric evenly from both the top and bottom, which helps your fabrics stay perfectly in place as you sew a smooth, consistent stitch. This is especially useful at holding the folds in place if you’re using slippy fabrics. When using the blind hem foot, make sure to select a blind hem stitch on your machine, which typically looks like a straight stitch with a zigzag off to one side. Adjust the stitch length to suit your fabric, and you’re ready to go!

If you haven’t sewn a blind hem before, then there is a special way of folding the fabric like a concertina back on itself. This foot has a double guide that helps your folds stay perfectly aligned so that only the spiked stitch on the blind hem stitch catches only a few threads of the fabric on the right side. The outer/underneath fold lines up with the wire guide under the foot, while the adjustable red guide lines up with your top fold. Check your needle position with the 2 positions of the blind hem stitch to line up your red guide perfectly. This creates a hem that is virtually invisible from the outside.

To get the best results with your blind hem foot, we recommend that you press your folded hem before you stitch it. This will help the fabric lay flat and reduce how much it moves as you sew, so you’ll get a neater and more precise finish.

But the blind hem foot isn’t just for hems – If you want to get creative, you can also use it to create decorative pintucks by folding the fabric and stitching along the folded edge. This technique can add a lovely fun touch, especially if you try it with a contrasting thread.

So if you’re tired of wrestling with unruly hems and want to take your sewing projects to the next level, we hope you’ll enjoy trying out this blind hem foot with your Pfaff sewing machine.
