Description
This machine foot has a raised bar in the centre, so as you zigzag over it, it creates extra slack in the thread after the stitch is passed through, creating a fringe effect. It is also sometimes called a looper or a tailor tack foot. It can also be used to sew on buttons where you want the button fit to have enough give in it to allow it to go through thicker materials into the buttonhole.
You can use the central V shape at the front of the foot to help you line up your stitching to keep your fringing effect straight. Please note that lightweight fabrics may need the use of stabiliser for the stitching to come out with the desired effect. You may also need to adjust your stitch length and tension to adjust your fringe effect.
Universal Snap-on Feet will attach to low or high shank sewing machine adapters, which covers a wide range of both home and domestic sewing machines. If you aren’t sure if this will fit your machine, check out our sewing machine feet guide.
